My Blue Veil Tail Betta Fish, simple and easy fish keeping, no bullshit tips.

What you really need.

1. a 2.5 Galon Aquarium and up, yes. you can cycle a 2.5 galon tiny aquarium. a Betta Fish, live plants and with the good ol' friendly bacteria!

2. Filter, you need a filter to keep the water clean, yes. they can survive with no filter, but will get weaker and weaker due to dirty water, get a filter, makes maintenance easy. I got a 3-watt mini submersible power head/filter, added some diy top filter made from HDPE plastic bottle. also added 4 holes to even out the flow of the water, Betta's likes calm water.

3. Add a heater if you live in cold places, I live in a tropical place so no heater for my Betta.

4. Ligthing, to cycle day and night.

5. Some live plants, unpainted resin cave/barrel and silica sand/gravel to house friendly bacteria. I got the Pothos Plant for my Betta.

That's all. the end. life is easy, enjoy your aquarium.

Mobile phone and tablet adapters. Does voltage and ampere really matter?

You can use a higher ampere adapter for your device.

But be sure you have the same voltage.

Original adapter that came with your phone is

For example 5v 1.5a indicated on the adapter.

You can use a 5v 2.1a adapter.

The phone will only draw 1.0a, regardless of higher ampere adapters. Just be sure it is in the same voltage.

If your phone adapter is 5v 2.1a

It is not recommended to use an adapter with lower ampere.

For example:

Your phone adapter is 5v 2.1a

It is not recommended to use a 5v 1.0a adapter.

As it cause stress and heat to the adapter, because the phone cannot draw the sufficient amount it needs.

Same as your home appliances, you can plug a television with 50 watts and a lamp with 5 watts consumption in the same wall outlet. Because the device/appliances will only draw what it needs. But you cannot plug an appliances that exceeds the wattage capacity of your wall outlets.

JASO MA and JASO MA2 what's the difference?

JASO MA and JASO MA2 what's the difference?

JASO MA blended with good amount of friction modifiers. But does not protect Catalytic Converters.

JASO MA2 blended with less friction modifiers and protects Motorcycles with Catalytic Converters.

If your motorcycle does not have a catalytic converter, why choose JASO MA2?

If your motorcycle had a Catalytic Converter which one do you protect first? The engine or the catalytic converter.

All Fully Synthetic blend motorcycle oils comes in JASO MA2.

Mineral oil had JASO MA.

The Engine should be the top priority.

I still use mineral oil on my small and standard motorcycles as the factory recommends JASO MA.

I think the Motorcycle Factory/Engineers knows best. So I just follow what the manual recommends.

But you can always break the rule. But in motorcycles you might also break something on it when you do.

Akawa USB Wall Charger? Anyone?

Akawa USB Wall Charger? Anyone?

         Recently I bought a charger called Akawa, Anyone heard about this brand? Is it good? Can't find any information about this charger online. But I bought it anyway.

         

Here is what I found, it has 1 amp port and a 2.1 amp port. Both ports produce the correct amps indicated (estimated using an android app). The Akawa logo on top lights up and also can make a good night lamp while charging. 

         

The problem I have encountered is that it heats up. A lot warmer than my original usb charger. And sometimes it's normal. This might be due to energy waste me, a normal thing in electronic adaptors where the electricity or current is controlled to produce the correct current for the device. I can live with that "a little bit warm than other" charger because it is  pretty much normal.

        

         

What bothers me is, when I noticed there isn't any safety certification marks on the charger itself and on the packaging, no CE marks,uL which is a requirement to be sold in Europe. And it doesn't indicate where it is made. It is indicated in the packaging made in china, but this is the first charger I bought without any info just a website of the company. Checking out the website, the product is not listed, googled it and none. No one has reviewed this product, no one even sells it online. I emailed the company but there is no reply. Legit or not. I doubt using this for safety reasons. 

This will be the only review you will find online about this product. All are questions but no answers.

Pros: product is well made

          Night light when charging at night

          Both ports read the correct currents

Cons: no safety certification marks

           No made in china printed on the adaptor itself.

           Cannot find the brand name online. Only the distributor.

           Online product support does not respond

           A little warmer than other chargers.

Air Coolers and how to use it the right way,

The Air Cooler also known as The Swamp Cooler sometimes are misused and people get to return it to stores for the reason that they woke up literally wet.

How to use it properly

Rule number 1: The Humidity

• Do you live in humid areas, and humidity level is above 60% to 100% do not turn on the humidifier feature as it will blow water vapors to fix dry air. Use only this feature your humidity level is below 50%.

Rule number 2:

• Open windows or door. The air cooler will work properly in a well ventilated area, do not use it on closed rooms such as computer rooms or server rooms. This will totally ruin your computers.

Rule number 3:

• It is not a replacement for air conditioners (Freon) it is just a fan that blows cooler air by sucking air from a “water curtain” to make the air cooler. (You can put Ice in the water tank for much more cooling effect)

Notes: always clean the filter and the water tank regularly, some air coolers left outside are infested with mosquitos. But, I never had this problem as we only use it indoors.

You can check the humidity level by using a hygrometer, it’s cheap. Many dollar stores have it.

EDC Multi Tool Maintenance (Odor Free)

                     

Everyday carry tools are very important whatever work or activities you have, I myself always have a multi tool in my waist bag, back pack and also had it on my motorcycle, I also encourage my wife to bring her small multi tool everyday, and it proves very useful. May it be office related or a friend needs something fixed. But then, all multi tools needs maintenance. Even if it is stainless steel some parts of the tool are not. And using a 3 in 1 oil for maintenance is great but it smells, and greasy and putting it inside your bag or pocket will surely make it smell.

The solution - use Baby Oil for cleaning everyday carry multi tools. Because Baby Oils are corn oil and is good for cleaning and preventing tools from rust with an added fragrance.

Note: Baby oil is good for cleaning only, and not a replacement for other gears and stuffs like a sewing machine that needs a proper lubrication/oil grade.

Cleaning a Plastic Fidget Spinner – Straight to the point!

Materials:

-Alcohol

-Cloth/Paper Towels

-Prying Tool/Plastic Card

-Small Cup

Step 1:

Pop out Caps using a plastic card (for plastic spinners)

Step 2: (you can skip this step)

Push out bearing slowly, try both sides to find where it will easily pop out.

Step 3:

Soak bearings in Alcohol.

Step 4: Wipe excess Alcohol

Step 5: Put the bearing back, snap on caps and spin until the Alcohol dries up!

You will feel that the spinner is now smoother, faster and lesser noise.

Warning! Do NOT clean with water – it will rust.

Do NOT apply lubricate – it will slow it down and cause friction.
